Provincial Assessment for Learning (AFL)

The Provincial Assessment for Learning (AFL) Program has assessed student achievement in mathematics and language arts. In addition to achievement data, the program uses student and teacher questionnaires to collect and report on contextual data and students' opportunities to learn in the area under study. The data is used by teachers and education leaders to inform decision-making in order to improve student learning.

Mathematics Goal:

Know Problems

70% of students will score at the proficient level of problem solving by 2010-2011.

Literacy Goal:

Reading For All

Students will demonstrate at least one year of growth in reading comprehension skills during each academic year by 2010-2011.
