To support students learning remotely, Junior Achievement Canada has developed virtual programs that can be accessed by teachers, parents, volunteers and students as of April 20, 2020.
The following programs are available as self-directed or one-to-many learning opportunities:
More than Money (grades 4-5): encourages students to explore the role of money in everyday life, through money management, earning, sharing and saving. It identifies businesses and roles of entrepreneurs and creates an awareness of ways to earn an income.
Business Basics: Our Business World (grades 5-6): encourages students to explore career options. It is intended to inform students about business and how it operates, to help them understand the responsibilities associated with business and to create an awareness of business opportunities in their community.
Dollars with Sense (grades 7-8): encourages students to develop the financial literacy necessary to set goals and make informed decisions about their financial futures. Students learn about budgeting, money management and investments.
Economics for Success (grades 9-10): designed to encourage students to consider and reflect on the advantages of remaining in school until they have acquired the knowledge, attitudes, and skills to undertake the longer-term goal of a successful career. Students will identify their skills, interests and values in the context of the world of work as they consider education, career, and other life choices.
