Earlier this year, in partnership with the Yorkton Tribal Council (YTC), Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Yorkton, students at the Yorkton Regional High School participated in a program called "Engaging Young Leaders."
In that program, students created women in red dresses to honour Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. These were displayed at YTC’s justice conference in the winter.
The students' teacher Katherine Koskie, adapted these patterns to be online-friendly and to be easily created within your own home.
The hope is that we can all display these on our windows on May 5th which is Canada’s National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. For instructions and resources: MMIWG Project
