Our Speech and Language services are provided by licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and a Speech Language Pathology Assistant. The Speech-Language Pathologist conducts assessments, develops and implements appropriate programming, and monitors student progress for students with a variety of communication disorders or challenges.
Our therapy sessions include learning activities that are language rich, fun, and exciting for students. Sessions include both one-on-one and small group therapy targeting the following areas:
- Language (understanding and use)
- Social skills (including Lego based therapy)
- Augmented Communication (Using high and low technology devices to aid in social communication)
The Speech-Language Pathologist also provides whole class interventions that target early language and literacy development, supports written language and reading development, and conducts class-wide screenings.
