Strategic Plan

2025-26

As the new school year begins, the Good Spirit School Division has launched its 2025-26 Foundational Statements and Strategic Plan, approved by the Board of Education on August 14, 2025.

Our plan is organized within the four pillars of Comprehensive School Community Health (CSCH), an internationally recognized framework that improves student learning by addressing well-being in a holistic and integrated way. The Good Spirit School Division Strategic Plan is fully aligned with the Saskatchewan Provincial Education Plan (PEP), ensuring that provincial priorities are realized in meaningful ways across our schools and communities.

GSSD Aspirational Statements

  • High Quality Teaching and Learning: Improving student outcomes, implementing the Inspiring Success Policy, developing leaders, ensuring consistent practices across GSSD schools, delivering high-quality teaching and learning resources and providing equal access to technology.
  • Engagement of All Students, Families, and Communities: Fostering strong connections, supporting smooth transitions, listening to stakeholder voices, communicating openly and clearly and building partnerships.
  • Effective Policy and Procedures: Upholding clear governance, transparent practices, and responsible resource allocation to support student success.
  • Healthy, Sustainable Physical and Social Environments: Promoting mental health and well-being, offering safe and welcoming schools, and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Alignment with the Provincial Education Plan

The Provincial Education Plan (PEP) outlines four key areas of focus:

  1. Assessment for Learning – improving outcomes through timely data and responsive instruction.
  2. Indigenous Student Success – advancing reconciliation and equity through Inspiring Success.
  3. Student Belonging and Well-Being – building safe, supportive, and inclusive schools.
  4. Family Engagement – strengthening caregiver partnerships from Kindergarten to graduation

The GSSD Strategic Plan brings these priorities to life at the local level:

  • Our literacy, numeracy, and assessment initiatives mirror the province’s commitment to stronger achievement.
  • Our Indigenous education priorities ensure equity and honor Indigenous voices, advancing provincial reconciliation goals.
  • Our focus on mental health and well-being strengthens provincial efforts to create safe, connected schools.
  • Our family engagement strategies align with the provincial goal of fostering stronger caregiver-school partnerships throughout a student’s learning journey.

Together, the Province and GSSD are united in putting Students First, ensuring every learner is supported to achieve, graduate, and thrive in a strong and vibrant Saskatchewan.
