Board Meetings

Board meetings are held throughout the school year (excluding July). At times, and only as needed, special meetings of the board may be called. Regular meetings are open to public attendance except for the in-committee (closed) portion of discussions. Public Delegations, interested in attending, need to complete the Application for Delegation to Board Meeting. Board Policy 7 details, "The purpose of Board meetings is to ascertain group opinion and through motions and resolutions to focus Board action on specific issues. Respectful behaviour preserves the inherent dignity of everyone; therefore it is important that Board meetings be conducted in an environment that is productive, orderly and respectful of Board members, staff and members of the public."

The Board will hold regularly scheduled meetings at the Good Spirit Education Complex in the RM of Orkney or via Video Conference at 10:00 a.m. according to the following schedule in 2023-2024:

May 23, 2024 (Special Meeting)
June 13, 2024
August 15, 2024

Board Meeting Agendas are provided prior to each Board meeting as a synopsis of items scheduled to be discussed. The Administration Office prepares the agenda and board package for distribution to board members 3 days prior to the board meeting.

From the Board report is a detailed explanation of the events of the work of the Board. It will be distributed to local media outlets, School Community Councils, Trustees, local MLAs, Town Councils, City Councils, Rural Municipal offices, and posted in the Media Room on the Division website.

Board Meeting Minutes are transcribed at each meeting as a representation of discussions and motions passed. At the following Board meeting, minutes are presented and, once approved, can be shared and posted.
